The Oldest Thing I own and still use daily is a nutcracker owned by my mother. It’s good for opening bottles and jars that are tightly screwed when new and difficult to open

What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?

NUTCRACKER

The oldest thing

I ever owned is

a nutcracker

inherited

from my mother

made of silver

it’s small gaps for nuts

clasp clasp bottles

that are hard to open.

It’s small handle fits

my hand and with a twist

as I hold it and bottle

or jar open quickly as

a shelled nut.

It’s a treasure, repurposed.
